The Chicken And The Pig

I love to eat a big breakfast. Every Saturday morning my brother and I meet at my parent's house to eat breakfast with them. After my dad's heart attack mother cooked healthier. Sometimes it was hard to choke down turkey bacon and fake eggs. Thank goodness the health thing is over. I get to eat a real meal now. Eggs and bacon garnish my plate early Saturday mornings just like God had commanded. ( I think that is a commandment ). If you think about bacon and eggs, the chicken participated but the pig was totally committed to the meal.

This week we are going to see a man named Saul whose life changed while he was on the job. After that change Saul became totally committied to work for Jesus. He did not just particpate as I do sometimes.

Are you committed or do you participate. I must say sometimes I find myself just participating far too many times.

Today's questions:

Are you a chicken or a pig ?

If you are a chicken, how do you become a pig ?

See you in Church !!!!!

Thanks Dee For This Email

A message every adult should read, because children are watching you and doing as you do, not as you say.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator, and I immediately wanted to paint another one.

When you thought I wasn't looking , I saw you feed a stray cat, and I learned that it was good to be kind to animals.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make my favorite cake for me and I learned that the little things can be the special things in life.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I heard you say a prayer, and I knew there is a God I could always talk to and I learned to trust in God.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make a meal and take it to a friend who was sick, and I learned that we all have to help take care of each other.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you give of your time and money to help people who had nothing and I learned that those who have something should give to those who don't.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you take care of our house and everyone in it and I learned we have to take care of what we are given.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw how you handled your responsibilities, even when you didn't feel good and I learned that I would have to be responsible when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw tears come from your eyes and I learned that sometimes things hurt, but it's all right to cry.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw that you cared and I wanted to be everything that I could be.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I learned most of life's lessons that I need to know to be a good and productive person when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I looked at you and wanted to say, 'Thanks for all the things I saw when you thought I wasn't looking.'

I AM SENDING THIS TO ALL OF THE PEOPLE I KNOW WHO DO SO MUCH FOR OTHERS AND THINK NO ONE EVER SEES .

LITTLE EYES SEE A LOT !

Each of us (parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, teacher or friend) influence the life of a child. How will you touch the life of someone today?

God Bless You

Look, Here Is Water

Have you ever been excited about something ? I mean really excited about something. As most of you know I love to duck hunt. After weeks of preparing; cleaning my gun, many trips to Bass Pro, working my dog and entertaining my family with a finely tuned duck call, the day finally comes. With plans to get to bed early for a good night's sleep, I lay down and close my eyes. After about 3 hours of no sleep I get up and watch TV for the rest of the night. I LOVE IT !!! I know I am weird.

I am sorry to say I don't remember if I have ever lost sleep because of an excitement to do God's work. Why is that? I love God. I love to work for him. I love the people who work hand in hand with me for God. Where is that losing sleep excitement?

This week we are going to see the excitement of two men. One is good and one not so good. One is directed in the right direction the other in a wrong direction. Both were excited about doing to work for the Lord.

How can we direct our excitement for God in the right direction?

It should be a good class discussion.

See you in class.

A Father's Love Letter

The Boldness Of A Dad

Happy Father's Day. Many of us are blessed to still have our father with us. For me it is a joy to see Mr. Royce so happy to be part of this church and worshiping with me. Some of us have lost our father and they await in heaven to join with us again. Today I want us to discuss what it takes to be a bold Christian dad.

The lesson is about a first-generation believer who modeled what it means to be a bold Christian. Stephen is widely identified as the first Christian martyr. We will be challenged to recognize in Stephen a boldness worth following as a Christian dad. We will see his life as an encouragement to demonstrate courage and confidence when we declare as dads our Christian beliefs and values.

Faithful
Full Of Grace
Wise
Truthful
Set Apart
Obedient
Humble
Prayerful
Forgiving

Think about how we all can be better parents and exhibit boldness in our Christian living.

See you Sunday.
